Rockaway Park Beach
This past weekend we headed out to Rockaway Park beach in Queens for some fresh air. It was much needed since we really haven't been anywhere in the past couple months which is really hard for both of us. I honestly think it's the first time my skin has seen the sun this entire summer. Well, our summer didn't really start until a couple weeks ago anyway. At least I have a little life in me now. Poppy did SO good. She passed out in her stroller parked on the sand. Well, first we tried to have her sleep under an umbrella on a towel but sand kept flying in her eyes so Reyn walked her to sleep. We stuck her toes in the ocean and she started crying...she'll get there. The best/worst part about being on a beach in Queens is listening to peoples conversations around you. They are awesome.

4th of July weekend
This past weekend was finally sunny. It's July and we are barley seeing the sunshine. I'm serious when I say that my skin is as white as Poppy's and that is freakin white. It's not even close to her smooth and silky and perfect skin (mine is a little more rough and weathered...growing up constantly in the sun in AZ). We rocked it on the 4th. Went to an outdoor concert. Jenny Lewis and Conner Oberst played at Battery Park. Saw the Macy's fire works off the Hudson with some lady friends. Since Poppy's bedtime is 8PM now, it's so hard to balance going out at night and getting her to sleep. We've been taking turns going out and it seems to be working well. Obviously there are times when we will have to make exceptions.

Mobile
I finally found a mobile for Poppy that isn't super cheesy or ultra expensive. I've been looking and looking for something and I found this bicycle mobile on saltyandsweet.etsy.com.
I was debating between these three. Bicycle won. Enjoy Poppy. May these shapes make you calm and happy and tired.
